Neha Negi

Hi, Iโ€™m Neha ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

I graduated from Delhi Technological University with a bachelor's degree in
computer science and then somehow ended up with a master's degree in cognitive science from IIT Delhi.

Currently I am working as an
APM at Nirmit Bharat, where I handle growth, onboarding and UI/UX of our e-commerce mobile app, DigiHaat.

Prior to product, I also worked as a
fullstack developer at Noon. This experience now comes handy during feature development cycle, both in ideation and execution (software devโ€™s take PMs on a really good ride otherwise, iykyk )

Tools I Built for Increasing Productivity at Work

Jira Sprint Scoping Tool : Try Here For Yourself

Why I Made It : My team has 4 PMs and each of us lead the sprint rotationally (till we get a project manager). The job of a sprint master is tough. The worst task to do though was to find how the tasks were divided amongst the developers and how overworked/underworked they were. I hated selecting each assignee and then seeing the tickets under them. So I did a lil v0 experimentation and automated this task for myself.

How it works: Add your project details and fetch the tasks. You see a visualised task distribution across the team

Tools I Built for Becoming Better at Life

High Five : Try Here For Yourself

Why I Made It : I needed to be consistent with eating clean and doing my 10k steps. And I needed a visual tracker to see my consistency progress. Annnnnd I wanted it to be a grow in public sorta thing. Anyone with the link, can see my consistency over time. I don't like looking bad in public. Need to add the functionality to add images to log proofs, but abhi ke liye I'll believe that I'll be using this honestly.

How I got Into Product

After I completed my masters in 2023, I was trying to transition to product role. At one point I realised sitting at home and reading product case studies and watching YouTube videos is a bad way to get good at product management.

So I moved to Bangalore, signed up as a volunteer at HelloMeets and started hosting product meetups. This got me acquainted with people who are into product domain already.

From there I got to know that taking part in product teardowns is a good way to practice product skills, and so far Iโ€™ve taken part in 2 teardowns where I got into top 5 in my second attempt.

A lot of learning also came from interviews I didnโ€™t clear.

Here is my learning process, in order of recency, latest to oldest.

My MSc in Cognitive Science gave me a fresh lens to look at things around me. Here is a brief sneak peek of what I learnt/observed during those 2 years.
